“The Anti-Corruption and Security Unit has flagged certain anomalies and submitted a report about unauthorised persons being seen in the dugout, team bus, and team hotel during IPL matches,” Dhumal stated. He further added that the board is committed to restoring the absolute sanctity of the competition.

The urgency of the situation was echoed by BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia. Following earlier disciplinary issues, such as the widely discussed Riyan Parag vaping incident, the board has made it clear that their patience for repeated transgressions is wearing thin. “This time, we have observed various anomalies and irregularities in the conduct of certain franchises and players,” Saikia remarked. The secretary pointed out that the presence of unauthorized individuals in team buses and hotel rooms is a direct violation of anti-corruption protocols. Furthermore, he expressed concern over team owners and officials mingling with players in restricted areas, noting that such “dilutions” of the rules will no longer be overlooked.
